MultiCam brings you the newest, most sophisticated router so far! Boasting 5-axis technology, the 8000 series router opens you up to a wide range of possibilities you never thought possible on your CNC router. In addition to the standard 3 axes on routers (X, Y, and Z) the 8000 series has an A and a C axis. These additional two axes allow for a larger range of motion that creates many new applications. This enables the router to now rotate in 90% increments, meaning that the machine can work on all four sides of a piece of material as well as vertical machining from the top.

Benefits of the 5-Axis Routing Technology:

  • Ability to work on a piece of material in one single run: This reduces the set up time that is needed when a job takes several runs to complete. Having to only set up the job once saves you time and in turn saves your company money
  • Provides a high level of flexibility and versatility: Having the ability to machine on more axes can help improve production of current jobs as well as create opportunities to diversify products and offerings.
  • Shorter cutting tool size: Due to the fact that the cutting head on the 5-Axis router can be lowered towards the material being cut.
  • Increased accuracy and quality of cuts:  Having 5-axes increases the tool’s range of movement, and as a result it is able to more accurately cut a design or job.
  • Competitive advantage: The 5-Axis router provides a competitive advantage for your company. Investing in the latest technology allows your company to stay ahead of the game in the ever changing and dynamic market

The 5-Axis router is designed to deliver high speed and quality cuts for a wide range of materials. These include but are not limited to wood, plastics, non ferrous metals and other composites. The 5-Axis technology provides various new applications including:

Edge trimming of thermoformed plastic, molded plastic and composite parts:

  • The flexibility of the 5 axis machine creates the ability to provide high quality finishing and edge trimming on many manufactured plastic items.

Deep cavity mold making:

  • On three axes machines deep cavity mold making requires that you have longer tools to be able to reach deep enough. Having longer tools results in the user having to reduce cutting speed to prevent breakage. With the added movement provide by 5 axis machining, shorter tools can be used, and your cutting speed can be increased.

Molded plywood chairs and decorative furniture parts:

  • The 5 Axis technology allows for unique shaping and molding of various materials, allowing you to make your creative and dynamic designs a reality.

Detailed 3D carvings

  • The increase in movement of the cutting tool on the 5 Axis router allows it to carve intricate designs into a piece of material. It allows you to capture the fine details of your design in the job you are cutting.
