The Avro Arrow, the Festo Smartbird presentation, and enough lasers to make Dr. Evil jealous, CMTS was a fantastic trade show, showcasing innovations for the 21st century manufacturer. MultiCam Canada was once again proud to participate in the show, showcasing some of our most popular plasma and waterjet CNC machines.MultiCam Canada CMTS 2013 Booth
Using our 3000 Series Plasma Cutter, attendees were witness to the incredible speed, accuracy, and efficiency of a MultiCam plasma system. Coupled with a HyPerformance 260XD Hypertherm system, the 3000 Series Plasma cut out steel components virtually dross free and with extremely accurate holing. Representatives from SigmaNest were on hand to answer all attendee questions regarding CAD/CAM and nesting software. Coupling a MultiCam CNC machine with SigmaNEST software, users are able to effectively bridge the gap between design and production, with increased levels of efficiency.
Our 3000 Series WaterJet system was also on display, cutting detailed aluminum pieces with ease and beautiful glass samples. With KMT’s NEOLine 40i intensifier reaching a maximum pressure of 60,000 PSI, the 3000 Series WaterJet was able to cut 1.5 inch glass.Aluminum MultiCam cutout using waterjet Glass PCL cutout using waterjet
The key take-aways from the show revolved around strategies on how to improve and grow manufacturing in Canada. Investments in new technology and equipment, increased spend in R & D, increased productivity and efficiency in current manufacturing processes, and the looming shortage of skilled labour all need to be addressed if Canada hopes to sustain its current economic trajectory. MultiCam Canada feels confident in its ability to help their customers address these obstacles with its wide selection of CNC cutting solutions and products. CMTS certainly gave both attendees and exhibitors some food for thought and a direction for the future.
